August 2026 Paint-outs in Portland

Here is my paint-out list for August, 2026.
Note the birthday party on August 25th. Everyone is invited.
​Wednesday, August 5: Paint Portland Farmer's Market at Shemanski Park, 1010 SW Park Ave, from 10am to noon. Four hour Street parking along 10th Avenue. Restrooms in the PAM.
Thursday, August 13: Paint views from Cornell Farm, 8212 SW Barnes Rd, from 10am to 12:00pm. Restrooms and coffee. Please park in the back to leave room for Cornell Farm customers. Extra credit for anyone who can find one of Paul Lockhart's puzzles in the Cornell Farm garden center.
Thursday, August 20: Paint the Peninsula Park Rose Garden ,  N Ainsworth St. and Peninsula Park Blvd. , Portland, from 10am to 12:00pm. Free street parking and restrooms.
Tuesday, August 25: Paint views from Fields Park, 1099 NW Overton, and help Brooks celebrate his 84th birthday. No gifts please. Just come and sketch and paint. Paid street parking, Ovation coffee and restrooms, and I will bring goodies.

  Portland Painters, It looks like a wet November this year. So, I have only scheduled two paint-outs this month. If it is raining straight down, I suggest we stay home.  Tuesday, November 4: Paint fall colors from Overlook Trail in Hoyt Arboretum from 1pm to 3:30 pm. Meet in the parking lot at 1pm and walk to Overlook Trail. Restrooms and paid parking available. Paint out Calendar for April 2026

  Welcome to Spring in Portland. The fruit trees, azaleas, camellias, and rhododendrons are starting to bloom.The dragon boats have returned to their place along the Riverplace Marina Dock, and the Thompson Elk fountain is returning to SW Main St. Join us plein air painting this month. Also, in May, 2026 is the Watermedia show at the Oregon Art Center, OAC, (formerly the Oregon Society of Artists) and in August 2026 there will be the Plein Air/ Alla Prima show at the OAC.Here is the April paint-out calendar: Monday, April 6:  Paint Dragon Boats from the Riverplace Marina Public Dock, 1500 S Harbor Way, from 1pm to 3pm. Street parking and public garage parking along S. Harbor Way. Walk onto the floating public dock and paint right next to dragon boats. Tuesday, April 14: Welcome back the Thompson Elk Fountain by painting the Elk en pleinair , SW Main and SW 4th Ave, from 1pm to 3pm. Street parking.
