Portland PDX Paint outs June 2026

 The Rose Festival and Summer are both coming to Portland in June. So, you are invited to the following plein air painting dates and locations. Note that all the June paint-outs are from 10am to noon (the cooler part of the day):


Friday, June 5th: Paint Fleet Week Ships from Vera Katz Eastbank Trail near Morrison Bridge, from 10am to noon. No restrooms. Bring earplugs, I5 is noisy.

Saturday, June 6th: Paint Dragon Boat Races and views of downtown Portland from the OMSI. 1945 SE Water Ave. from 10am to 12:00pm. Paid parking at the OMSI or free parking under 99W at Oregon Rail Heritage Center,. Restrooms inside the OMSI. Hearing protection is also recommended here as we will be standing under the Marquam Bridge.

Tuesday, June 9th: "Paint the roses red" at the Peninsula Park Rose Garden, N. Albina and Ainsworth, from 10am to noon. Restrooms in the park and street parking.

Thursday, June 18th: Paint International Rose Test Garden, 400 SW Kingston Ave, from 10am to noon. Pay parking. Restrooms available. Great views.

Wednesday, June 24th: Paint Wednesday Farmer's Market at Shemanski Park, NW Main and NW Park Ave.from 10am to noon. Street parking. Restrooms available in the Portland Art Museum.

PS. The Oregon Art Center (used to be Oregon Society of Artists) hosts our "Plein air and alla prima" show every year. This year it will be in August. So get your plein air painting ready. They will need images of your paintings by July 24th, and your framed paintings by July 31/August 3.
