Paint Calendar for May 2026

Spring weather is finally here. So let's paint outdoors.

Here are opportunities to plein air paint in Portland during May, 2026:

Friday, May 1,  from 1pm to 3pm.

Paint Tillicum Bridge or the OMSI from Robertson Collaborative life science , RCLS, building. Meet behind the building. Paid street parking along S. Meade St. and free parking across the river at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center. Trolley and Max also have stops at the RCLS Building. Restrooms are inside Elephants Deli. 

Wednesday, May 6,  from 10am to noon Paint the Hoyt Magnolia Trail in bloom. Meet at Hoyt Arboretum (where the bathrooms are), 4000 SW Fairview Blvd, at 10am, then walk to Magnolia Trail. A couple of hundred yards of walking required.

Thursday, May 14  from 10am to noon. : 

Paint Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, 5801 SE 28th Ave.  The parking lot opens at 10am, so to get front door parking you need to arrive a few minutes before 10am. $9 entry fee ($8 for seniors). Restrooms are available.

Thursday, May 21, from 10am to 12:30pm. : 

Paint Elk Rock Garden views, 11800 S Military Ln.  Some parking  but no bathrooms. https://elkrockgarden.org/

Thursday, May 28,  from 1pm to 3pm.  Paint the Iris gardens and Willamette River views, at South Waterfront Park, 2001 S River Dr. Paid street parking and restrooms available.
