October 2023 Paint-outs

 With the cool weather of fall come the fall showers and fall colors. So we will be painting in between the showers.Thursday, October 5: OSA Class with Brooke Bocherding . Bring a snack for lunch.  This is an OSA Class so register with OSA: https://www.osartists.org/events/special-events-2  Cost is $35 for OSA members and $45 for nonmembers. Parking in the boat ramp parking lot. Meet near Restrooms.
Thursday, October 12: Paint Hoyt Arboretum fall colors of Overlook Trail from 10am to 12:30pm. Meet in Hoyt Arboretum, 4000 SW Fairview Blvd, parking lot at 10am.
Saturday, October 14: Painting Portland from  Pittock Mansion, 3229 NW Pittock Dr, any time from 10am to 4pm. I plan to paint from 11am to 1:30pm. Pay for parking.  Pittock Mansion would like to fill their grounds with plein air artists on Saturday, October 14. They have an exhibit of Eliza Barchus’ (an early Oregon landscape painter) works inside. Pay extra to see the inside of the mansion and Eliza Barchus paintings. Nancy Truszkowski has offered to bring OSA tents in case of rain. 
Tuesday, October 17:Paint the fall colors on PSU campus from 10am to 2:30pm. Meet near Benson House on South Park Blocks.
Tuesday, October 24: Paint International Rose Test Garden, 400 SW Kingston Ave., for the last time this year from 10am to 12:30pm. Pay for parking and restrooms available.
Wednesday, October 25: Paint Wednesday Farmer's Market at Shemanski Park from 10am to 12:30pm. This is the last market for the year. 4 hour paid parking on SW 10th.
Tuesday, October 31: Bob Ross/Halloween paint-out at Peninsula Park Rose Garden from 10am to 12:30pm. Come in a Halloween costume of your favorite painter. I plan to come as Bob Ross to celebrate his 81's birthday (October 29, 1942).

May 2024 Paint-0uts

Spring is here. For Portland that means Flowers and Showers. You have to decide your own tolerance for rain. If it is raining straight down I will attempt to reschedule when the weather is better. Here is our May 2024 calendar: Friday, May 3rd : Paint the Iris garden in South Waterfront Park, 2001 S River Dr. from 1pm to 3pm. Thursday, May 9th: Paint Crystal Springs Garden, 5801 SE 28th Ave, from 10am to 12:30pm. The Crystal Springs volunteers request that we carry our paint water in/out, that we have a drop cloth under our easels, and that we don't block the paths. There is an $8.95 entry fee. However, you may enter with the Community Access Program showing a Oregon Trail Card/ SNAP EBT WIC, TANF, REF/RCA or TriMet Honored Citizen. They suggest a pay-as-you-wish donation.
