August 2025 Paint-outs

  ​August is here. Time to paint in the morning, in the cool of the day. Here are the paint-outs scheduled for August, 2025. If you have any other suggested paint-out locations, reply to this note, and I will put them on my future paint-out locations list. Thursday, August 7 : The Fountain has been repaired at Peninsula Park Rose garden. So we will paint the Peninsula Park Rose Garden (with fountain), 700 N Rosa Parks Way, Portland, from 10am to 12:30pm. Thursday, August 14 : Paint Sellwood Riverfront Park, 1221 SE Oaks Park Way, Portland, OR, from 10am to 12:30pm. Views of Sellwood Bridge and Willamette River. Parking and restroom in the park. https://www.portland.gov/parks/sellwood-riverfront-park Thursday, August 21 : Paint views from Cornell Farm, 8212 SW Barnes Rd, from 10am to 12:30pm. Restrooms and coffee. Please park in the back to leave room for Cornell Farm customers. Extra credit for anyone who can find one of Paul Lockhart's puzzles in the Cornell Farm garden center...

Change in July Paint-out calendar

Painters: The weather is predicted to be too hot to paint this T July17. So I am moving Thursday's paint-out at Pittock Mansion to the following Thursday, July 24. Thursday, July 24: Paint Portland views or Pittock Mansion views from 3229 NW Pittock Dr,. 10am to 12:30am. We rarely change paint-out dates but heat and smoke are two weather events that can trigger a change. See you next week, Brooks PS Other paint-outs remaining in July are as follows. Tuesday, July 22nd: Paint Jamison Square Fountain, 810 NW 11th Ave, from 10am to 12:30pm Wednesday, July 30th : Paint Portland Farmers Market - Shemanski Park, 1010 SW Park Ave, from 10am to 12:30pm. 4 hour parking on SW 10th.

July 2025 Paintouts - the Fountains of Portland

  Summer is here, and with the warm weather the Portland fountains are on and the kids are out wadding. We are painting the fountains, "not because they are easy to paint, but because they are hard" (apologies to John Kennedy). Thursday, July 3 :   Paint Lovejoy Fountain Park, SW Harrison St & Southwest 3rd Avenue. from 10am to 12:30pm. Portland's stealth fountain. Behind a Harrison Tower on Harrison Street. Tuesday, July 8:   Paint Ira Keller Fountain Park, SW 3rd Ave &, SW Clay from 10am to 12:30pm. Portland's largest volume fountain at 13,000 gallons per minute. ​ Tuesday, July 15 :  Paint Salmon Street Springs Fountain, 1000 SW Naito Pkwy, from 10am to 12:30pm. Portland's waterfront fountain with views of Hawthorne Bridge. Thursday, July 17 :  Paint Portland views or Pittock Mansion views from 3229 NW Pittock Dr,. 10am to 12:30am.
